Championship Points breakdown<\/h3>\n

As it stands, each team regardless of their placement in the Spring Split still has a chance to make it to the world stage in October. <\/p>\n

Championship Points are the determining factor to decide which teams from North America make it to Worlds. <\/p>\n

Although the team winning the NA Summer Split automatically qualifies as the first seed for NA, the next team with the most Championship Points at the end of the Summer Split automatically qualifies as the second seed from NA. <\/p>\n

The third seed is decided by a gauntlet style qualifier, with the four teams with the next highest totals participating. Out of those four teams, the teams with the lowest point totals play first, followed by the team with the second highest point total playing the winner and so forth. <\/p>\n

Mid Season Invitational<\/h3>\n

The winner of the Spring Split, Team Liquid, is automatically invited to the main stage of the MSI. Because of North America\u2019s strong international performances in the past couple of years, the region has received an automatic slot in the main stage rather than the secondary play in stage. The MSI will have immense implications for the 2018 World Championships for any team participating, including a possible demotion in auto-qualifying for group stage for North American teams.<\/p>\n

A recent style of international competition implemented by Riot to help spur battle lines between regions, Rift Rivals aims to pit closely related regions against each other.
