V5 and EDG are set to lock horns on the Summoner’s Rift for the second time this season on Thursday, following V5’s upset win at the Demacia Cup.

V5 started their 2020 season with an underwhelming 13th-16th place finish at the Demacia Cup, where they showed some glimpse of greatness with wins against Gama Dream and EDG but fell flat against Top Esports and LGD Gaming.

They join bottom laners Li “Max” Xiao-Qiang and Wang “y4” Nong-Mo, while Tao “Windy” Xiang has switched position from top lane to mid lane.

Last season, V5 finished the LPL 2019 Spring Split in 13th place and LPL 2019 Summer Split in 12th. They also claimed a ninth-16th finish at NEST 2019. Based on those results, V5 are not expected to contest a playoffs spot.

BetOnline
