Weibo Gaming and Bilibili Gaming will cross swords on Saturday, October 26, for a spot in the League of Legends World Championship 2024 grand final.
The two Chinese teams last clashed in the LoL Pro League (LPL) 2024 Summer final, where Bilibili Gaming won 3-0. According to the latest LoL betting odds, Chen “Bin” Zebin and co. should come out ahead again.
Even though Bilibili Gaming are one of the world’s best teams, they have looked wobbly at LoL Worlds 2024, so it is fair to question whether the best LoL betting sites have priced them reasonably.
BLG defeated Hanwha Life Esports 3-1 in the quarterfinals; however, they did not look great in teamfights or with their macro, while they failed to create notable leads early.
This comes as no surprise, as Bilibili Gaming are averaging +384 gold difference at 15 minutes (GD@15) this tournament. In contrast, Weibo Gaming hold the second-best GD@15 at +959.
Their early-game strength and ability to close out the map when ahead showed in Weibo’s victory against LNG Esports — most notably in games three and four. It was WBG’s best series so far at LoL Worlds 2024, but that does not mean it was a clean showing.
That series was a classic LPL fiesta, with teams making errors, getting ahead and throwing the lead right back. It was not pretty, but Weibo Gaming were the more deserving victors.
Even though Weibo lost their last three series against Bilibili Gaming, that does not explain the odds. Priced at +307, Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong and co. are given a 24.6% implied probability of winning the series, which doesn’t sound right.
Weibo Gaming are a very volatile team, but as seen in the win against LNG Esports, they can run hot. A smaller bet on the underdogs to win outright is worth considering, but there is plenty of value in taking them at the map line.
