The ex-HEET lineup consisted of Ex3rcice, Thomas “Djoko?” Pavoni, Lucas “Lucky” Chastang, and Bryan “Maka” Canda. The roster was assembled at the start of 2022 when HEET signed DBL PONEY.

Since then, HEET have won events such as Elisa Invitational Spring 2022, Malta Vibes Knockout Series 5, and ESL Challenger League Season 40 Europe. They also participated in ESL Pro League Season 16 with this lineup.

The team, however, failed to qualify for a Valve-sponsored tournament despite competing in RMR events for the IEM Rio Majors and PGL Antwerp.

According to Ex3rcice, the next game would be their last under the lineup, and the players were currently looking for an organization to work with.

“As you saw, we are not representing HEET anymore; we will now play under the tag Looking4Org. We are now actively looking for a new home to represent; we’ve been grinding very hard, are very eager to succeed and be part of the best,” Lucky wrote.

Former Team Falcons member Ali “hAdji” Ha?nouss joined Looking4Org as the team’s fifth player in April and helped them win the CCT Central Europe Series 6. He played with Maka on Falcons between February 2021 and January 2023 before he was benched and Maka moved to HEET.

The announcement comes days after reports claimed HEET were facing financial difficulties. They had allegedly not been able to pay their players’ wages or tournament earnings for months prior.

The team’s manager, Vivien “?GoY?” Goyon, announced his departure from HEET on April 29, promising to host a press conference to answer questions from fans. In the press conference on Monday, GoY disclosed that both Lucky and Djoke had ended their relationship with HEET while Maka and Ex3rcice were gearing up to do so soon.

There were also claims that HEET owed their former players Audric “JACKZ” Jug and Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro approximately €100,000 in unpaid wages and buyout fees.

In a Twitter post, HEET revealed that the decision was made by matHEND, and thanked their former head coach for his contributions. The French team also promised to welcome him back at whatever point in the future.

HEET also shared a statement from matHEND where he acknowledged and thanked everyone involved in the project.

“As I end my adventure with Heet, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all those who participated in this project and believed in me,” matHEND wrote.

“This journey has been an emotional adventure with many ups and downs. Despite it all, I have no regrets about diving into this experience, as it has taught me valuable lessons and the ability to go back to the competition was a real pleasure.”

MatHEND was with HEET for a year and helped the organization get closer to achieving tier-one status. With the Frenchman as head coach, HEET won competitions like the ESL Championnat National and Elisa Invitational Spring last year.

HEET were not as successful in tournaments with much stronger opponents like the IEM Rio and Antwerp majors last year, where they failed to make it past the RMR stages. The French squad also finished joint-last in ESL Pro League Season 16.

The all-French lineup for the upcoming IEM Brazil qualifiers features Thomas “?Djoko?” Pavoni, Pierre “?Ex3rcice?” Bulinge, Lucas “?Lucky?” Chastang, Bryan “?Maka?” Canda, and Matthieu “?Razzmo?” Mellot.

HEET are currently undergoing a personnel shuffle ahead of the Paris Major. The team’s former in-game leader Alexandre “?bodyy?” Pianaro signed on to Falcons earlier this year. They also lost Aurélien “?afro?” Drapier to LDLC later on.

Monte had a relatively easier road, with their toughest match coming in the round of 16 where they overpowered HAVU.

HEET, on the other hand, encountered tough competition from the highly ranked teams Apeks and Eternal Fire. Despite recently undergoing a roster change with the departures of Aurelien “afro” Drapier and Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro, HEET managed to come out on top.

While the Europe closed qualifier is set, there are still spots up for grabs for the South American and North American regions. In North America, Complexity, paiN, and Vendetta have already been confirmed, while 9z, 00NATION, and O PLANO are set to compete in South America.

The final team lists and dates for the remaining closed qualifiers are as follows:

Europe, February 8-10: ENCE, BIG, Bad News Eagles, Sprout, Monte, HEET, 9INE, and HONORIS.

North America, February 15-16: Complexity, paiN, Vendetta, and the winner of NA Open Qualifier 2.

South America, February 15-16: 9z, 00NATION, O PLANO, and the winner of SA Open Qualifier 2.

With four teams left to be found for IEM Brazil, the competition is expected to be intense as each team strives to earn a spot in the final event.

According to reports, HEET will be leaving the competitive scene in order to mount a long-term rebuild. It is understood the team is going through a financial crisis.

“Unfortunately, we will not be able to take part in the EPL Conference. The team is in a rebuilding process. More details in the next days / weeks,” the team’s manager, Vivien “GoY” Goyon, tweeted.

However, HEET have yet to make an official statement that they are disbanding the team. They have only revealed that they will not participate in the forthcoming EPL Conference.

Afro, who started playing for HEET on January 19, 2022, has an existing contract with the European team, and not much of his alleged move to LDLC OL has been revealed.

It is also likely that the other players on HEET’s active roster — Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro, Thomas “Djoko” Pavoni, Pierre “Ex3rcice” Bulinge, and Audric “JACKZ” Jug, along with coach Matthieu “matHEND” Roquigny — will also be looking for a new team to join.

Afro is a 23-year-old AWPer who started his CS:GO journey in 2017, and since then he has played for a few teams, which include Team Mistral Reflex Esports Club, APOLOGIS Esports, Double Ponie, The Dice, and FiveG. In June of 2020, afro was signed to LDLC OL, spending just six months with them.

Despite HEET’s poor performances at CS:GO tournaments, afro managed to win a few, including the 2022 Elisa Invitational Spring and the 2022 ESL Championnat National Autumn.

If afro does move to LDLC OL, he will be joining players such as Serbian in-game leader Filip “Graviti” Brankovi?, 20-year-old French rifler Hugo “Brooxsy” Di Bono, 19-year-old AWper Remi “Diviiii” Alexandre, French rifler Fran?ois “AMANEK” Delaunay, and 31-year-old coach Lambert “Lambert” Prigent.

On January 18, LDLC OL are scheduled to face off against Team BDS Academy at the 2023 LFL Spring. The former will paying +198 for the win, with the latter side favored at -270.27 with BetOnline.

Team Finest last met with BLUEJAYS in June (2-1), but that was before they lost Guy “anarkez” Trachtman and replaced him with Aleksander “hades” Miskiewicz. On paper, hades does not look like a downgrade, but he has yet to impress, and Finest have been struggling since his arrival.

Since Team Finest attended the first European RMR on August 16, they’ve won just six out of 11 outings, which includes defeats against Forward Gaming, Esports Club Kyiv, ECSTATIC, EYEBALLERS, and flowstate. Even though Team Finest weren’t very good before, seeing them lose against such teams is concerning.

BLUEJAYS have won just as many games across their last 11 (6-5), and they’ve also struggled against some lesser teams in 1PIN, Monte, and Strive in Chaos. So form-wise, there isn’t much to separate them from Finest.

Team Finest field a more established lineup with a much higher ceiling, but that hasn’t earned them much success lately, so it hardly justifies their price. This should be a close match, so we’ll gladly take BLUEAYS with a +4.5 total round handicap.

HEET have recently finished their ESL Pro League Season 16 journey, where they landed in last place, showing that they’re not good enough to compete at the highest level. Still, the French squad had their moments, namely on Friday, when they stole a map from Heroic (1-2) and Sunday when they achieved the same against MOUZ (1-2).

Besides their relatively decent showing at ESL Pro League, HEET also played well in the final Intel Extreme Masters Road to Rio EU RMR in August, finishing third and claiming a spot in the European RMR B.

SINNERS Esports might belong in the same category of second-tier teams, but they’ve not achieved nearly as much as the French squad this year. By failing to make it past the second round in three RMR events and finishing FiReLEAGUE 2022: Europe in fifth-eighth, SINNERS proved that they’re not a team HEET should struggle against.

HEET might not be a top-tier team that will consistently roll over lesser squads, but at $2.62 with the top esport betting sites, they’re an excellent bet on the handicap market.

HEET’s map pick was Dust 2, and Astralis started the first half on the CT side. Asger “?Farlig?” Jensen and Kristian “?k0nfig?” Wienecke certainly stepped up in this half and earned their team the early lead.

HEET were able to get a pistol win as well as a conversation for their two-round victories. Audric “?JACKZ?” Jug performed a big clutch which earned them three wins in the middle of the first half, to which they added an extra round and closed the half with a 6-9 deficit.

The second part of the map saw the commencement of force buy wars and players like Aurélien “?afro?” Drapier and Benjamin “?blameF?” Bremer executing big plays. HEET were able to take economic control and created a double AWP setup which their opponents were unable to break. The French team eventually won their first map of the tournament after in-game leader Alexandre “?bodyy?” Pianaro and the rest of the squad powered down with a 16-12 lead.

The second map pick, Inferno, was Astralis’ and saw the team create an impressive offensive. The Danish team won the pistol round and stayed in the lead with a 6-2 score.
HEET eventually executed more aggressive setups, which earned them five straight rounds. However, Astralis were able to recover and ended the first half of the map at 8-7.

In the final half of Inferno, HEET could not win the second pistol, which allowed Astralis to increase the lead to 12-7, placing quite a distance between the teams. The French squad eventually reached 10 wins before the end of the map after afro and bodyy executed crucial kills. It was not enough, however, and Astralis ended the series with a 16-10 victory.

Nuke was the deciding map of the series and it kicked off with Astralis’ pistol win from their CT side. HEET responded via an upper rush using Tec-9s, and the two teams traded one round after the other. Astralis were eventually able to stabilize their economy and fix up their defense with the help of Farlig’s AWPing and ended the first half of the map with a 9-6 scoreline in their favor.

In the second half, the Danish team won the pistol round and continued their series of wins till they boosted the score to 12-7. HEET’s afro was able to pull them back into the game and result in five wins for the team.

Astralis, who were suffering from issues in their economy at the time, were finally able to get their guns up and Farlig ended HEET’s streak using some crucial frags. Afro continued hounding Astralis using his AWP and ended the map with a 16-14 win for HEET, the French lineup’s first victory since the start of the tournament.

Complexity’s first win in the event was against Astralis in the upset that kick-started their journey in the ESL Pro League Season 16. The win against their Danish counterparts was the NA team’s first against a European team since the start of the year.

Complexity carried on in the tournament and swept HEET with a 2-0 record during their second outing of the event. They notably scored 16-8 on the first map, Nuke, and 16-12 on Overpass.

Complexity’s victory revealed that they had improved significantly compared to their performance during the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2022, where they finished in last place.

HEET’s map pick was Nuke, and it saw Complexity easily beat the all-French team as a result of their almost perfect T side during the second half of the map. HEET had an early advantage in the round due to the efforts of Pierre “?Ex3rcice?” Bulinge and Aurélien “?afro?” Drapier. The players moved the team to a 6-2 lead in the first half due to impressive pushes to the ramp room and the A site.

Complexity were able to gain on the team after their star players, H?kon “?hallzerk?” Fj?rli and Justin “?FaNg?” Coakley, found their rhythm on the defense. The two players went on to push Complexity ahead of HEET with an impressive 13-round winning streak in both halves, making the score 15-6.

Michael “?Grim?” Wince, who was also particularly outstanding in the game, joined FaNg and hallzerk as the players created a relentless trident of firepower, closing Nuke with a 16-8 scoreline. The player recorded a 2.58 rating at the end of the map.

Complexity’s win in the next map, Overpass, was significantly more closely contested than Nuke’s. As a result of two 2v4 round victories, the NA team could not get into the lead and ended the first half with an 8-7 score with HEET ahead. Ricky “?floppy?” Kemery and ?Ex3rcice? were at the forefront in terms of fragging in their respective teams and finished with a 1.44 and 1.29 rating, respectively.

The second half of the map saw Complexity in top form as they won their third consecutive pistol round during the series. The French team were able to keep up with Complexity for a while, but ultimately fell back, resulting in an 11–15 score with Complexity in the lead.

Thomas ?Djoko?” Pavoni attempted to give the team a lifeline with a decisive 3K on the B site using the Deagle, but hallzerk destroyed his plans. The Complexity player executed a triple kill during the last round and ended Overpass with a 16-12 scoreline.

As a result of their victory, Complexity will have the opportunity to snag one of the three available playoff positions in the EPL season 16 Group C. To get a spot, the NA team will need to win against MOUZ, Heroic, or ENCE.

On their part, HEET is still yet to achieve a map win and will remain at the bottom of Group C. The all-French team previously lost against ENCE and will likely not move on to the event’s playoffs. Following their unexpected loss to MOUZ in the opening round of Group C, Heroic bounced back with a dominant win against ENCE, who the Danes swept 2-0 (16-13, 16-10) on Thursday. It was a solid performance from Heroic that would lead you to believe that Casper “cadiaN” M?ller and co. have found traction, but considering how many upsets ESL Pro League Season 16 has produced so far, we would take Heroic’s success with a grain of salt.

HEET have yet to taste victory, and based on their recent showings, it’s hard to believe that will change anytime soon. They lost against ENCE (0-2) on Wednesday and were just as unconvincing against Astralis (0-2) on Wednesday. Results like that suggest that HEET have no chance of beating Heroic, and we have a hard time finding an argument against that.

Even though Heroic have looked a bit weak in some of their recent maps, this is still an elite-tier team going against HEET, who have yet to beat a top-10 roster this year.

Complexity enter round three of Group C with a perfect 2-0 record and a +12 map difference, with wins against Astralis (2-1) and HEET (2-0). Complexity needed 25 rounds (25-23) in the second map against Astralis to complete the reverse sweep, so it’s not like they are insanely good.

Nevertheless, Complexity are playing much better since the departure of Paytyn “junior” Johnson, so perhaps it’s time to start showing this squad some respect. Their next opponents, MOUZ are 1-1 with a clean victory against Heroic (2-0) and a 0-2 loss against Astralis on Wednesday.

The main thing to take away from those games is that MOUZ might not be ready to contest big trophies, but they are highly competitive and definitely a team to keep an eye on ahead of IEM Rio Major. But can they defeat Complexity?

MOUZ have been playing cleaner CS:GO than Complexity, but they don’t deserve to be $1.40 favourites. This is a huge price to pay, and it seems like it’s based more on the market’s distrust of Complexity than anything else. Complexity can win, or at the very least force a tight series.

ENCE and Astralis have been struggling this tournament, granted that’s relative to our expectations. ENCE have shown less, though, with a loss against Heroic (0-2) and a win against HEET (2-0), while Astralis lost to Complexity (1-2) but took down MOUZ (2-0).

Results-wise, Astralis have looked better, but it’s hard to make any firm conclusions following two rounds of play. ENCE are still trying to assimilate to playing without Lotan “Spinx” Giladi, whereas Astralis continue to show cracks, proving that roster changes are necessary if they ever want to return to their former glory.

As the latest CS:GO odds show, this match is a complete coin-flip, and we agree. Expect a close, three-map series.
