The Rocket League group stage at the Esports World Cup kicks off on Thursday, August 22. Below you will find our preview and best bets for six opening-day matches, with odds courtesy of the top esports betting sites for gamblers in United States.

Time Team 1 (Odds) Team 2 (Odds) Total Maps (O/U 3.5)
4pm AST Team BDS (-1250) PWR (+600) Over -138.89 | Under +100

Team BDS have experienced a rocky 2024 season, and they are coming off a fifth-eighth finish at the London Major in June. PWR have dominated the Oceania Rocket League scene, winning all six of the Major 2 qualifiers before finishing 9thC11th in London. At +110 for BDS to win 3-0, it looks to be great value.

6pm AST Gen.G (-500) Team Secret (+333) Over -200 | Under +150

Gen.G and Team Secret clashed in the RLCS London Major group stage, where the former took the series 3-1. It was a close contest, with Gen.G winning two maps with a 1-0 scoreline. Another close match looks to be on the cards, and taking the overs in the total maps market is the play.

7pm AST FURIA (-10000) Nkosi Ballers (+1400) Over +162 | Under -227.27

FURIA enter the Esports World Cup off the back of a strong showing at the London Major, where they finished in third-fourth place. They will meet the Nkosi Ballers, who have yet to play at an S-Tier event and shouldn’t trouble FURIA too much.

Team Vitality are one of the best Rocket League teams; however, they have only won one event since claiming the RLCS World Championship in 2023. With esports bookmakers offering -111.11 for Vitality to cover the match line against Twisted Minds, they are the best bet of the day.

9pm AST Gentle Mates Alpine (-3333.33) Chiefs Esports Club (+950) Over +125 | Under -175.44

Gentle Mates Alpine are the outright favourites with esports betting sites to claim the Esports World Cup title. Considering they will kick off their campaign against an Oceania representative, a 3-0 victory is on the cards for the French organisation.

10pm AST Spacestation Gaming (-500) Gaimin Gladiators (+333) Over -200 | Under +150

Spacestation Gaming performed admirably at the London Major before they were beaten in a hard-fought contest by G2 Stride in the quarterfinals. They will meet Gaimin Gladiators, who come off a 12thC14th finish at the same event. It is hard to see the Gladiators taking a map off Spacestation, so +175 for a 3-0 win to the favourites is a great price.

The post Gaimin Gladiators win Riyadh Masters with 3-0 sweep over Liquid appeared first on Esport Bet.

        ]]>
After three weeks of spectacular Dota 2, the Riyadh Masters 2024 concluded with Gaimin Gladiators winning the tournament, taking home a whopping $1,500,000.

They etched their name in history at the first-ever Esports World Cup by defeating Team Liquid 3-0 in the grand final.

Despite being the second favourite at +450 with esports betting sites, Gaimin Gladiators faced challenges throughout 2024.

Last year, they choked at the Riyadh Masters, but this year, they turned the script around and emerged as champions.

Their journey wasn’t smooth; they had a shaky start in the group stage, losing 2-0 to Heroic.

However, they quickly adapted, securing third place in their group and moving to the upper bracket in the playoffs.

In the playoffs, the Gladiators reached their peak.

Their fast-paced gameplay and aura item builds helped them win all their games before 40 minutes until the grand final.

Team Falcons were the only squad to steal a game from GGs perfect upper bracket run.

In the upper bracket finals, GG faced Team Liquid, who were considered their only real competition.

GG quickly dispatched Liquid 2-0, dropping them into the lower bracket and moving on to the grand final.

This grand final was the sixth iteration of GG facing Liquid.

Gaimin Gladiators showcased aggressive gameplay from start to finish.

In Game 1, their draft included Chen, Beastmaster, and Broodmother, creating a small army of creeps that constantly pressured Liquid’s towers.

GG won Game 1 in 24 minutes with an 18-4 kill lead.

In Game 2, Liquid returned the aggression, taking an early kill lead.

However, Quinn “Quinn” Callahan dominated the midlane on his Shadow Fiend, disrupting Liquid’s ganks and out-leveling Micha? “Nisha” Jankowski.

Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov free-farmed on his Alchemist, becoming unstoppable.

Even though Michael “miCKe” Vu picked up a Divine Rapier at 40 minutes, it failed to impact Liquid’s chances.

The final game ended similarly to Game 1.

Despite Liquid’s draft having strong initiation with Beastmaster, Clockwerk, and Tiny, Quinns confident play allowed GG to gain control.

By 17 minutes, GG was knocking on Liquid’s door.

Liquid tried to stall, but a dominating team fight led to a 30-minute victory for GG.

Gaimin Gladiators have now won six grand finals against Team Liquid, with this being their first 3-0 victory since the Lima Major.

Quinn’s performance earned him the Most Valuable Player title and a $50,000 prize.

Europe’s dominance in the professional Dota scene continues, with GG leading the charge.

Team Falcons, who were a dominant force earlier this year, failed to win this tournament, giving hope to other organisations in the Club Championship.

Meanwhile, Chinas comeback saw them place second at PGL Wallachia and fourth at DreamLeague Season 23, but the Riyadh Masters was not their tournament, with G2.IG and Azure Ray finishing in 19th and 20th.

Other regions also failed to make a significant impact.

This victory marks a triumphant comeback for Gaimin Gladiators, solidifying their status as one of the top teams in Dota 2.

The post Natus Vincere claim Esports World Cup CS2 title appeared first on Esport Bet.

        ]]>
Natus Vincere continued their recent dominance of G2 Esports as the European roster claimed another resounding victory in the grand final of the Esports World Cup Counter-Strike 2 event, rallying back from a 1-0 deficit to record a 2-1 (14-16, 13-6, 13-6) victory in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

NaVi’s in-game leader, Aleksi ‘Aleksib’ Virolainen, continued his flawless run against the team that cut him in June of last year, with the grand final victory taking his record to 7-0 against the world number six.

Entering the Esports World Cup as the world number five in the CS2 world rankings, Natus Vincere was rated as a +600 chance and fifth favourite by esports betting sites to lift the trophy.

However, it wasn’t the reigning Major champions that entered the grand final as the favourites, with G2’s form seemingly stacking up better than that of NaVi’s after they dismantled Virtus.pro in the semi-finals and defeated Team Spirit in the quarters.

The series started on Ancient, where G2 got off to a fast start and took an 8-4 halftime lead before NaVi responded with their own 8-4 half to take the game to overtime.

In overtime, it was Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kova? and Mario ‘malbsMd’ Samayoa that stood up for G2 and carried the team to a 16-14 win on their own map pick.

Aleksib and his squad would have been happy to move onto their comfort map pick of Nuke for the second map of the series.

Although they traded rounds with G2 and went into halftime with the score locked at 6-apiece, NaVi rattled off seven straight round wins to claim the map in dominant fashion and take the grand final to a third and final map.

Valeriy ‘b1t’ Vakhovskiy and Justinas ‘jL’ Lekavicius led the server in kills and rating after producing a near-flawless counter-terrorist side.

On Inferno, NaVi strung seven straight rounds together early in the first half and took a comfortable 9-3 halftime lead before the switch of sides, with b1t leading the way, recording a massive 1.84 rating on the terrorist side.

The two squads traded rounds in the second half, but with b1t still firing on all cylinders, G2 had no answer, and Natus Vincere wrapped up the series with another 13-6 scoreline to claim the Esports World Cup CS2 title.

On a positive note for G2, NiKo was awarded the Most Valuable Player of the Esports World Cup event and collected the US$50,000 prize.

He finished the tournament with a 1.35 rating, +58 kill/death difference, and 94.2 average damage per round (ADR).

Both NaVi and G2 will return to Europe and prepare for the upcoming BLAST Premier Fall Groups, which will begin on Monday, July 29, in Copenhagen, Denmark.

G2 Esports secured the first spot in the Esports World Cup Counter-Strike 2 grand final after a swift victory over Virtus.pro (13-4, 13-7), finishing the match in under two hours.

Nikola “NiKo” Kova? delivered an outstanding performance, leading G2 with a 1.89 rating.

Virtus.pro initially gained a lead on Dust 2 with a 1v2 clutch from Petr “fame” Bolyshev, but G2 quickly turned the tide once they had money.

Ilya “m0NESY” Osipovs clutch in the first gun round sparked a dominant 9-0 run.

The Kova? cousins, NiKo and Nemanja “huNter-” Kova?, accumulated 32 frags between them, propelling G2 to an easy victory.

An outstanding 3v5 turnaround, led by Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa, on the opening round of Ancient, continued to heap pressure on Virtus.pro.

It took 10 rounds for Virtus.pro to win their first before claiming the final three of the first half; however, G2 would wrestle back control quickly in the second half.

Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelskis three kills in the pistol round dashed Virtus.pro’s comeback hopes, and m0NESY sealed the match with a stunning 1v3 clutch in round 20.

NiKo attributed their success to exceptional team synergy, describing the event as a “honeymoon” period for the new roster.

“We just have to take it map by map, event by event,” he said.

“For now, we want to enjoy this honeymoon.”

Natus Vincere also booked their spot in the grand final of the Esports World Cup event after defeating MOUZ (1-13, 13-5, 13-8), overcoming a rough start on Dust 2.

MOUZ initially dominated with a 13-1 scoreline, but Na’Vi bounced back on Nuke, claiming the second map thanks to dominant performances from Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov and Valeriy “b1t” Vakhovskiy.

They maintained their momentum on Mirage, taking a commanding 9-3 lead and eventually winning the map 13-5.

Natus Vincere will face the revamped G2 lineup in the grand final in Riyadh, marking their first encounter since the semi-finals at the PGL Major Copenhagen.

FURIA has finished the second day of the Esports World Cup Counter-Strike 2 event undefeated after beating FlyQuest, Sashi and The Mongolz in the last chance stage to book their spot in the playoffs.

Following a disappointing performance on the opening day against Natus Vincere, where they were convincingly beaten 2-0 by the reigning Counter-Strike 2 Major champions, the all-Brazilian roster rattled off three straight wins to advance.

FURIA’s first series was an international battle between Brazil and Australia, as the world number 18 took on the all-Aussie squad of FlyQuest.

After a back-and-forth first half that ended 7-5 in favour of the Brazilians, FURIA won six straight rounds in the second half to claim a 13-5 victory on Nuke.

The second series of the day should have been much easier for FURIA, as they clashed with Sashi, who is 14 places lower than them on the world rankings; however, the Danish squad pushed them all the way to overtime.

Both teams traded 8-4 halves on Nuke before going to overtime, where FURIA claimed seven of the 10 rounds to take a gritty 19-15 victory and advance to the grand final against The Mongolz.

Their opponent had a much easier run to the final, recording dominant wins over MIBR (13-2) and M80 (13-8) in their first two matches of the bracket.

For the third straight series, FURIA played on Nuke and they started hot against the Mongolian roster, claiming an 8-4 halftime lead.

The two teams traded rounds in the second half, which allowed FURIA to wrap up the match in the 22nd round and record a 13-9 win.

With the win, FURIA booked their spot in the playoffs, setting up a clash with MOUZ in the quarter-finals.

To conclude the second day of the Esports World Cup CS2 event, G2 Esports and Team Spirit kicked off the playoff stage, with the world’s top-ranked team taking on the new lineup of G2.

Although Spirit entered the series as heavy favourites, it would be the underdogs who would take the first map with a 13-8 scoreline on Mirage.

Spirit had to respond on their map pick, Nuke, and even though they were pushed to extra rounds, the world number one claimed a 16-14 win to send the series to a third map.

However, much like the first map, G2 sprinted out to an early lead on Ancient with a 9-3 halftime lead before quickly converting it into a 13-5 win.

With this result, the favourites with most esports betting sites to lift the Esports World Cup trophy are now eliminated.

G2 will face the winner of the Team Vitality vs Virtus.pro quarter-final in the semi-final on Saturday.

G2 Esport’s new Counter-Strike 2 lineup clinched a 2-0 victory against The MongolZ in their Esports World Cup opener, with close scores of 13-11 on Ancient and 16-13 on Inferno.

Despite the win, it was a tough battle, requiring a combined 48 frags from Ilya “?m0NESY?” Osipov and Nikola “?NiKo?” Kova?.

G2 had to overcome a 6-10 deficit on the CT side of Inferno, ultimately prevailing in overtime.

This victory propels G2 directly into the playoffs, while The MongolZ move to the single-elimination best-of-one last chance stage of the Esports World Cup event.

G2’s freshness showed on Inferno, with clutches and anti-ecos proving challenging.

Mario “?malbsMd?” Samayoa stood out, maintaining his sharpshooting skills despite new CT roles.

His crucial plays, particularly in round 24 of Ancient, were pivotal in securing G2’s victory.

Despite their star duo’s dominance, G2’s win was unconvincing on both maps, reflecting the team’s need for further cohesion.

The MongolZ, led by Garidmagnai “?bLitz?” Byambasuren, also had their moments, with clutches from Sodbayar “?Techno?” Munkhbold showcasing their potential.

Meanwhile, MOUZ and FaZe Clan advanced to the quarter-finals after narrow victories over FlyQuest and Sashi.

FaZe had to overcome deficits on both Anubis and Nuke, relying on key plays from Finn “?karrigan?” Andersen and Helvijs “?broky?” Saukants.

Natus Vincere and Team Vitality both secured quarter-final spots, defeating FURIA and M80, respectively.

Natus Vincere’s Valeriy “?b1t?” Vakhovskiy and Vitality’s Mathieu ‘ZywOo’ Herbaut led their teams with decisive plays.

Team Spirit and Virtus.pro locked in their quarter-final positions, defeating MIBR and Complexity.

Virtus.pro showcased strong team play, particularly on Dust2, while Complexity struggled with individual inconsistency.

Going forward, the losers from the opening stage series will compete in the last chance stage, with the likes of FlyQuest, FURIA and Complexity expected to feature prominently.
