Los Angeles Guerrillas started the season with two losses against Toronto Ultra and New York Subliners but showed up in the second week when they crushed Los Angeles Thieves. The Thieves haven’t shown much so far, so beating them might not mean much. Still, the Guerrillas looked solid before the Christmas break.
Even though Los Angeles Guerrillas might be stronger than expected, they should struggle against Atlanta FaZe. Tyler “aBeZy” Pharris and his crew are 3-0 ahead of the third week of CDL Major 1 Qualifiers, with wins against LA Thieves, Seattle Surge, and Boston Breach.
This is Atlanta FaZe’s game to lose, but considering the teams haven’t played an official match in a month, there’s a good chance FaZe drops at least one map.

Seattle Surge had a good first week of CDL Major 1 Qualifiers, recording a win against Los Angeles Thieves and Boston Breach. Unfortunately, they couldn’t keep the momentum going into the second week and lost 1-3 against two of the league’s top contenders, OpTic Texas and Atlanta FaZe.
Even in the two losses, Seattle Surge performed well and came close to posting much better results. That doesn’t make them one of the top favourites to win the first CDL Major, but Seattle Surge has shown enough to prove they can compete with the best.
Toronto Ultra looked unstoppable in their wins against LA Guerrillas and Carolina Royal Ravens but then got humiliated by Boston Breach on the final day of the Week 2 qualifiers. Off-games like that are fairly typical for Toronto Ultra, but this doesn’t change the fact that they’re still one of the elite teams.
The Surge should be priced as underdogs for this match due to Toronto Ultra’s high ceiling, but it’s tough to imagine a blowout win for Tobias “CleanX” J?nsson and his crew. This should be an entertaining series that can easily go the distance.

Minnesota R?KKR ended the first two rounds of CDL Major 1 Qualifiers without a single win. They lost against Las Vegas Legion and OpTic Texas in the first week and added another rough 1-3 defeat against Miami Heretics in Week 2.
The game against Miami Heretics was close, but that’s no excuse for R?KKR’s poor execution on the day. Minnesota R?KKR will struggle to accomplish much on Friday unless they improve.
New York Subliners are 3-0 ahead of the third week of CDL Major 1 Qualifiers, after wins against OpTic Texas, Los Angeles Guerrillas, and Las Vegas Legion. Their schedule over the first two weeks wasn’t very challenging, but it’s tough to find any flaws in the Subliners’ games.
There’s a good reason why esports betting sites have New York Subliners priced as heavy favourites, and it’s difficult to argue with them.
