?Byun “mini” Hyun Je and Lim “PianO” Jin Mook will clash for the first time in the opening game of Group A in AfreecaTV StarCraft League Remastered Season 14. Mini enters the match as a heavy favourite, which makes sense, but only because PianO had played in just one tournament this year – when he helped emTek Redbit place fourth at AfreecaTV StarCraft Team League Season 3 in January.
But even though PianO is a bit ring rusty, that doesn’t necessarily mean that mini should be priced at -357.14. First, this is a best-of-one series, which makes it far less appealing to back the favourite. Moreover, mini is not particularly effective against Terran players, with a 48.7% win rate in PvT matchups over the last 33 outings.
Even though you could feel concerned about backing a payer that has not been active in over six months, the value is with PianO at +250 with BetOnline.
PianO to win

?Doh “Best” Jae Wook might be one of the most recognisable StarCraft II esports players, but we would argue that he shouldn’t be priced at only -277.78 to defeat Lee “Sacsri” Yah Hoon. Admittedly, Best has looked good over the last two months, posting a 12-3 record since June, but he has not faced any tough opponents over that stretch. Sacsri, on the other side, had not played a single match from February to July, when he attended ASL Season 14 qualifiers, but he has won six of seven outings.
Best and Sacsri last met in March 2021, when best won 2-0 and claimed his sixth head-to-head victory (6-3) against his compatriot. It also marked his fourth consecutive triumph, albeit we wouldn’t overreach to results from over one year ago.
Best should win, but we would not price him much lower than -200, so we have to take a shot with Sacsri at +200.
