?EDward Gaming’s defeat against LNG Esports was one of the history books, particularly the first map, which EDG lost despite holding over 4k gold lead 20 minutes in. It marked only the fourth game in over 300 LPL bouts this season that a team with such a lead ended up losing.
The eye test would prove that it all came down to small mistakes, which LNG Esports were able to take advantage of. Still, that does not change the fact that EDG are not playing well and are 1-3 across their last four outings, with defeats against Anyone’s Legend (1-2), Bilibili Gaming (1-2) and LNG.
But even though it’s hard to feel excited about EDG, there are even fewer reasons to feel good about betting on Rare Atom. They’re 8-7, but even eight wins is too much for what Rare Atom have shown this season.
Besides a few upset wins, Rare Atom have not achieved anything and even struggled against much weaker teams. EDward Gaming need to get back on track before the playoffs, and they’re good enough to hand RA another 0-2.

?With other top teams showing cracks, Victory Five might be the current best LPL team and, as +300 favourites in the outright betting at BetOnline, the most likely team to win the LPL 2022 Spring crown. Since their slip-up against JD Gaming at the start of the month, V5 have picked up three straight wins against Ultra Prime (2-0), Bilibili Gaming (2-1), and ThunderTalk Gaming (2-0), and while that isn’t too much to write home about, it is also nothing to complain about.
FunPlus Phoenix are 7-7, meaning they need to win this match to reach the playoffs, and they just might do it. Even though FPX aren’t the same powerhouse they were in 2019, they’ve been playing well of late, beating Bilibili Gaming (2-1), Team WE (2-1) and Invictus Gaming (2-0).
Based on their recent showings, FPX are good enough to put up a fight, but they might struggle to make it over the finish line. Nevertheless, one map shouldn’t be too much to ask for from the former world champions.
